Postcard Series
January: Colorado Vacation
Postcard series : Colorado Vacation
For 2026, each month there will be a theme of postcards. One of the many hobbies my father had was collecting postcards, from trains and planes and places that we had vacationed in or an area that he wanted to collect cards on.
Throughout the years, he would go to paper shows, flea markets, and antique shows in the area, if he saw a box of postcards, he would stop and flip through it.
January brings you Colorado. This is based from our attending the 1988 Denver Airline show, the summer convention that brought members of the World Airline Historical Society together to share their love the airplanes.
After the Convention, we rented a car and traveled south to enjoy the Durango Silverton train, Mesa Verde, then on to the Grand Canyon (separate book) then up through Utah back into Colorado and Vail Colorado. This was not our first trip to the area. We drove in 1976 (or 1977) to Denver and then up to Jackson Hole Wyoming to see Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. The cards later in the month will reflect the places we visited on that trip.
